SAITPhoto.ca showcases some of the finest photojournalism produced by students in the SAIT Journalism diploma program. While the dedicated Photo Major stream is no longer offered (as of September 2026), photojournalism remains a meaningful part of the journalism curriculum \u2014 and the quality of work our students produce continues to reflect that commitment.<\/p>\n
Journalism students at SAIT develop a broad foundation across multiple disciplines in their first year, exploring the wider media and communications landscape before deepening their focus in year two. Students in our photojournalism courses bring that same well-rounded perspective to their visual work \u2014 combining strong journalistic instincts with technical and storytelling skills.<\/p>\n
SAIT’s photojournalism courses offer students experience across a wide range of areas, including photography, picture editing, story development, file and asset management, videography, video editing, multimedia platforms, writing, social media, content management systems, interviewing, layout and design, and more.<\/p>\n
With these skills, our students are well positioned to pursue entry-level roles across digital and print journalism, multimedia production, corporate communications, media relations, public relations, and with non-profit or educational organizations that rely on digital media specialists. As visual storytelling continues to grow in importance across both editorial and commercial landscapes, the work you see on this site is a testament to what our students are capable of.<\/p>\n
